CAPSULE

この度、CAPSULE / SUNDAYでは、クリスチアン・フッツィンガ、ロッテ・ライオン、田口和奈による展覧会「clk」を開催致します。ウィーン在住のクリスチアン・フッツィンガとロッテ・ライオンは、長期に渡って東京に滞在した経験があり、また東京で活動していた田口和奈は、現在ウィーンに在住しております。
本展覧会では、それぞれに１色ずつ割り当てられた異なる3色の壁面を介して作品を発表する予定です。3色の面積はCAPSULEの壁の面積に直接起因していますが、空間全体にシフトして眺めることによって、知覚に変化が生じると考えています。
また3人の作家は、さまざまな技法を用いて制作しているという共通性があります。本展覧会では、田口和奈はペイティングを元にした写真の新作を発表します。ロッテ・ライオンはサイズと関係の問題から、その出発点としてのドローイングと紙を使ったモノクロ写真の新作を発表します。クリスチアン・フッツィンガは、カラフルなコラージュシリーズの新作として、自身のこれまでのアーカイヴからだけでなく、ロッテ・ライオンと田口和奈の作品の断片も素材として取り入れていきます。
さらには3人による3次元の立体作品により、展示空間全体を構成していきます。


The exhibition “clk” at Capsule combines the works of the three artists Christian Hutzinger, Lotte Lyon and Kazuna Taguchi. Christian Hutzinger and Lotte Lyon, who live in Vienna, have been spending a considerable amount of time in Tokyo over the last couple of years, while Kazuna Taguchi, a formerly Tokyo based artist, is currently living in Vienna.
In this exhibition, their work is shown together for the first time, linked through a concept of painted walls in three different colors. Each artist ’s work gets assigned to one color. The size of the color fields relates directly to the measurements of the walls, but through a shift in space, a change in the perception of the gallery occurs.
All three artists have in common that they use varying artistic techniques. At capsule, Kazuna Taguchi is showing new photographic works that have their origin in painting. Lotte Lyon’s new black&white photos deal with questions of size and relation, and use paper and drawing as a starting point. For his new colorful series of collages, Christian Hutzinger doesn’t only use materials from his own archive, but also bits and pieces of the works of Lotte Lyon and Kazuna Taguchi.
In addition, a three dimensional object that combines the works of all three artists defines the exhibition space further.
